On June 24, the Provincial Red Cross Association coordinated with agencies, units, benefactors, doctors and nurses to organize a program of medical examination, health consultation, free medicine distribution and gift giving to people with disabilities difficult circumstances in two communes Son Mau and Son Tan (Son Tay).
Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Propaganda Department of Provincial Party Committee Dang Ngoc Dung, Editor-in-Chief of Quang Ngai Newspaper Nguyen Phu Duc attended the medical examination program. This is an activity organized by the Provincial Red Cross Association and the Quang Ngai Compatriot Council, the Quang Ngai Entrepreneurs Club in Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ngai Newspaper, Hoa Lam Group, Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Bank Thuong Tin, Gia An Hospital 115, Binh Nghia Agarwood Export and Production Company Limited, Minh Ngoc Clinic Medical Clinic, Provincial General Hospital and benefactors organized.
Ms. Tran Thi Lam, Chairman of Hoa Lam Group, donated 300 million VND to help repair schools in Son Tay district. Hoa Lam Group also sent 55 gifts to 55 disadvantaged people in Son Tay district, each worth 1 million VND.
On June 24, a total of about 700 people in two communes of Son Mau and Son Tan received medical examination, counseling, medicine and gifts.
Joining a team of doctors from Ho Chi Minh City to Quang Ngai, traveling a long way to Son Mau and Son Tan communes to examine and distribute medicine to people, Dr. Hoang Van (Cho Ray Hospital) shared: “This is the third time that the Quang Ngai Country Council and the Quang Ngai Entrepreneurs Club in Ho Chi Minh City have organized medical examination and distribution in Quang Ngai hometown in 2023. The delegation has 18 doctors, including 11 doctors from Ho Chi Minh City. We try to come to the mountainous district of Son Tay before the rainy season to promptly provide medical examination and medicine. Through examination, people mainly suffer from digestive diseases, especially stomach, musculoskeletal, back pain, some people have liver diseases. Doctors have advised, given medicine and encouraged and guided people on how to take care of their health.
Standing Vice Chairman of Son Tay District People's Committee Bach Ngoc Them said that 90% of Son Tay district is ethnic minority Ca Dong. People's lives are still difficult, access to services including health is still limited. The interest of volunteer groups, especially the Quang Ngai Country Council, the Quang Ngai Entrepreneurs Club in Ho Chi Minh City and the sponsors who organized medical examination and distribution of medicines this time, is a job with deep humanitarian significance. helping people in remote areas to check their health and timely detect some diseases.
The total value of activities of medical examination and treatment, medicine distribution, gift giving, and school repair support in Son Tay district is about 635 million VND.
